Upload data

Data is the foundation of every chart and directly impacts the entire visualization process. It’s important to maintain clear visibility and control over your data at all times. You can upload your own data before creating a chart or during chart customization.

Before uploading, make sure your dataset is preprocessed and ready for visualization. You can learn more about preparing your data [here].

Upload data when creating a new chart

Upload data option allows you to upload your own data before selecting a chart type.This step also includes recommendations of the most appropriate chart types based on the data you provide.

  1. Go to the Vizualist dashboard and select the project where you want to create your chart.

  2. Click the button.

  3. Select Chart from the Vizualist Templates list.

  4. Enter the name for your chart and click the Next button.

  5. Select Upload data.

  6. Click browse to select a file from your computer, paste your data into the Paste your copied data here… field, or drag and drop a file anywhere on the screen.

  7. After reviewing your data in the review window click the Next button.

  8. Choose the chart type that works best with your data and click Next.

    The app will recommend chart types that best fit your dataset, but you can choose any of the 24 supported types.

  9. In the Preview window, review your chart and click Create Chart.

    If the chart doesn’t appear as expected, you can try transpose the data. You can learn more about it [here].

Upload data to an existing chart

  1. When viewing the chart you want to update, click the upload icon ic_cloud_upload_black_24dp_1x.png at the bottom of the page.

  2. To update only the data while keeping the current chart design, click Update CSV. To create a new chart from scratch, click Upload CSV.
