Transpose data
Chart data is organized in rows and columns, but you can transpose it by switching them. This will swap the data in rows with the data in columns.You can transpose your data while creating a new chart by uploading data, or while editing data in an existing chart.
The transpose option is not available if your dataset has more than 196 rows or 197 columns. It is also not supported for FRED and StatCan data, when the chart’s auto-update option is enabled.
Transpose data while creating a new chart
Transposing data when creating a new chart is possible for Upload data, Google Sheets, or Social explorer options. We’ll show an example using Upload data, and the same process applies to the other options.

Go to the Vizualist dashboard and select the project where you want to create your chart.

Click the
button.

Select Chart from the Vizualist Templates list.

Enter the name for your chart and click the Next button.

Select Upload data.

Click browse to select a file from your computer, paste your data into the Paste your copied data here… field, or drag and drop a file anywhere on the screen.

After reviewing your data in the review window click the Next button.
At this point, you can switch rows and columns by clicking the transpose icon
.

Choose the chart type that works best with your data and click Next.
The app will recommend chart types that best fit your dataset, but you can choose any of the 24 supported types.

Click transpose the data in the upper-left corner of the data grid to switch rows and columns.

If the chart in the preview window doesn’t look the way you want, you can click transpose the data again.

When you’re satisfied with the chart, click Create Chart.
Transpose data while editing the existing chart data

In the chart panel, click DATA in the bottom-right corner of the chart preview.

In the upper-left corner of the data grid, click the transpose icon
.

If you’re happy with the preview, click Transpose. To cancel, click X in the upper-right corner or press Esc on your keyboard.
