Group data series

When visualizing complex datasets, keeping everything readable and organized can become a real challenge. Charts allows you to group series to highlight similarities and relationships. To get started, you need a column to group the series by.

Please note that the “Grouping” option is not available for all chart types.

1. In the chart panel, click DATA in the bottom-right corner to open the data grid.

2. Next to the last column, click the add icon add to add a new column.

3. Enter the column name, set the column data type to Text, uncheck the Add column as series option and click Create.

4. Fill in the column data by entering the name of the group each row belongs to.

5. In the chart panel, open the Grouping option.

6. From the Add group by dropdown, select the column with the group names.
