Edit cells and data

Enter Cell Data

  1. Click the blank cell where you want to add data.

  2. Add data into the cell. 

When you move to another cell or hit Enter, your data will be automatically added.

Edit Cell Data

You can format your text by changing font size and color or making it bold or italic. 

  1. Click on the cell/s data that you want to edit.

  2. The toolbar will show above the cell/s that you have selected.

Align Data

There are six types for text alignment: 

  1. Click on the cell/s data that you want to align.

  2. The toolbar will be displayed above the cell/s that you have selected.

  3. Click on the Align option.

  4. A dropdown list will be appear and you will be able to choose one of the offered options for align text.

Edit Cell

You can edit your cell/s by using one of the following options from the toolbar:

Fill color – If you want to color your cell/s, click on the “Fill color” option inside the toolbar. The theme colors will appear. If you don’t want to use the colors shown, you can customize your own. Click on “Use custom color” and paint the cell with your desired color. 

Border – When you click on the border option the dropdown will appear. Choose one of the provided borders and add it to your cell.

Border style – Add style to your border by clicking on this option in the toolbar. You can choose between thin, medium, thick, or double style.

Border color – By clicking this option, theme colors will appear. Choose one of these colors and add it to your border. You can also customize your color by clicking on the “Use custom color” in the lower right corner. 

You can select one or multiple cells at once and apply these styles.

  1. Click on the cell/s that you wish to edit.

  2. The toolbar will appear above the selected cell/s.

  3. Choose one of the following options to edit cells.

Merge cells

  1. Select the cells that you wish to merge

  2. The toolbar will appear

  3. Click on the “Merge cells” option


 

Clip text in a table cell

Tables automatically adjust cell height to display all text, but now you can clip the text to avoid expanding the cell. When editing a table, select the cell you wish to edit and click the clip icon to clip the text.

Indents

Indent increase will move your text to the left, while decrease will move it to the right.

  1. Select the cell/s that you wish to indent.

  2. The toolbar will appear.

  3. Click on indent increase or decrease.

Cell description

A tooltip is often used to specify additional information when the user moves the mouse pointer over an element. To add a description, simply click a cell and select the cell description icon. Then, enter the description and hit Done. The information icon  will be added to the cell and when you hover the mouse pointer over it, a box with the text you specified will appear.

Math equation

  1. Click the cell where you wish to add a math equation.

  2. The “Insert Equation” window will open where you would like to add your mathematical notation using MathML or LaTeX.

  3. Click the Insert button and see your math equation inside the table.

Accessible header

This toggle button allows you to set the specific cell to be shown as a table header cell (<th>) instead of a regular table cell (<td>). The Accessible header will help you improve accessibilty on complex tables.

Accessible header is visible only on published tables.
